Finance Intern

Overview:

  • Candidates should understand data and can interpret financial information.

  • Intern works under the supervision of the Finance department and must follow accounting or auditing process.

  • Collect, understand, process, verify and report accounting related information to department head.

  • Be given professional analytical and management support work assignments.

  • Assistance may be required in the preparation of monthly or weekly financial reports.

  • Develop and utilize spreadsheets, databases, and other computer applications.

  • Enter information into the financial accounting system.

Additional Opportunities:

  • Will have the opportunity to participate in and learn about the production side of the business including sales and client meetings and lunches.

  • Will have the opportunity to contribute to the creation of expansion of the business in other ventures currently in process.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Smartsheets, Google docs and Outlook

  • Expertise in numbers and good math skills are very important.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must be able to collect, evaluate and interpret data in both statistical and narrative form.

  • Very task oriented, self-starter

  • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills

  • Willing to learn and flexible

  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Additional Information:

This role will be off-site as well as in-office in Union, NJ as well as occasional visits to farmers markets located throughout NJ.

Required Education:  Undergraduate Junior or Senior-level standing or Graduate student

Salary:  Most positions are unpaid, but a stipend may be offered in some cases and college credit. 

Human Resources Intern

Overview:

  • Interns will perform a variety of administrative tasks. 

  • Meet with hiring managers to review job descriptions and confirm skills required for job openings.

  • Schedule interviews, schedule panel, and develop interview questions, test or other interview processes as appropriate.

  • Review qualifications of potential candidates responding to job postings/advertisements and determine candidates for further consideration.

  • Conduct recruitment effort for interns, including writing and placing advertisements and determine candidates for further consideration.

  • Conduct background checks and administer the pre-employment physical and drug screen process.

  • All meetings are prescheduled for the year; however, changes do occur.  

  • End of semester project will be offered to interns to allow college credits once approved by university.

  • Intern will work in various departments of the organization, ranging from human resources to sales and IT.

  • Adapt to working with different sets of people and in different departments any given day.

  • Main duty is to gain as much knowledge of the organization as he can and prepare for a managerial role.

  • Become aware of the international policies and practices of the organization.

  • Observe experienced staff of the organization in order to learn about the necessary methods and procedures.

  • Invovle the senior management in setting goals and objectives.

  • Monitor progress with the help of key staff of the organization.

  • Learn about the inner workings of the different departments of the organization.

  • Communicate with various members of the organization around the world and be sensitive to cultural differences.
